Union Minister U Win Khaing for Ministry of Electricity and Energy who is arriving in Bangkok, Thailand, to attend 37th ASEAN Ministers on Energy Meeting and Associated Meetings paid a courtesy call on Mr. Prayut Chan-o Cha, Prime Minister of Thailand together with Energy Ministers from ASEAN Countries at Athenee Hotel on 4th September, 2019 in the morning.
And then, Union Minister and the Ministers from ASEAN Countries attended 37th ASEAN Ministers on Energy Meeting, Associated Meetings and Opening Ceremony of ASEAN Business Forum 2019. In this ceremony, Mr.Prayut Chan-o-Cha, Prime Minister of Thailand extended greetings to the attendees. Union Minister U Win Khaing and his entourage altogether with ASEAN Energy Ministers participated the International Energy Agency (IEA) Meeting, International Renewable Energy Agency(IREA) Meeting and other related meetings.
In the evening, Myanmar delegations led by Union Minister attended 37th ASEAN Ministers on Energy meeting commemorative dinner and ASEAN Energy medals awarded ceremony and presented.
Myanmar delegation led by Union Minister met and discussed separately with Singapore delegation led by Senior Minister of State, H.E. Chee Hong Tat from Ministry for Trade And Industry and Lao delegation led by Minister of Energy and Mines H.E. Dr.Khammary Inthirath on the matters relating electricity and energy sector between two countries.
After that, Myanmar delegation led by Union Minister attended 13th ASEAN and East ASIA Ministers on Energy Meeting and 16th ASEAN+3(China, Japan, Korea) ministers on Energy Meeting on 5th ,September , 2019.
During these meetings, Union Minister met separately with H.E. Mr. Sontirat Sontijirawong Minister for Ministry of Energy in Thailand, H.E. Mr.Michael Walter Michalak, Senior officer for US- Asean Business Council, Professor Hidetoshi Nishimura from Economic Research Institute for ASEAN and East Asia (ERIA) to discuss on the matters cooperation in electricity and energy sector and capacity development.
